World Soil Day 2025: L.G. Italia showcases soil–plant–human health innovations

On 11 December 2025, L.G. Italia welcomed agronomists, technicians and other stakeholders to its conference ”Innovazioni in agricoltura: nuove frontiere per la salute del suolo, delle piante e dell’uomo” at its headquarters in Fombio (Lodi, Italy). The programme, organised in the framework of World Soil Day, focused on soil microbiome, precision and regenerative agriculture, biostimulants and links between soil, plant and human health.

SOILRES project coordinator Prof. Davide Cammarano (Aarhus University) contributed with a talk on precision agriculture as a key tool for regenerative agriculture, connecting digital technologies with practices that improve soil health and crop resilience. His participation showcased how SOILRES is co-designing biodiversity-based solutions – including cover crops, compost, biochar and microbial biostimulants – together with farmers and industry partners across six European regions.

L.G. Italia’s role in SOILRES

Within SOILRES, L.G. Italia is one of the technology-driven SME partners responsible for developing and supplying innovative soil improvers and microbial-based products that can support more resilient and regenerative cropping systems. Their expertise in microbiome-focused solutions and soil conditioners feeds directly into project field trials, where these products are tested under real farm conditions to assess agronomic performance, environmental benefits and economic feasibility.

By hosting this World Soil Day event, L.G. Italia helps create a bridge between SOILRES research activities and day-to-day decisions taken by farmers, advisors and agri-food professionals. The conference also served as a space to present the project, invite stakeholders to follow upcoming demonstrations and encourage dialogue on how microbiome-based inputs and precision tools can be combined to restore soil health.
